Murrays

Murray's (a New York inspired tavern) is the reimagining and complete building overhaul of our favorite local East Austin dive bar, Gourmands. The goal was to make everything new, feel as though it has always been there. With an enthusiastic and exceptionally experienced ownership group at the helm, our good friends at McCray and Co. Interior Design were brought in to develop a new look and feel for the Murray's Tavern transformation. McCray enlisted our office to collaborate on the design, and figure out how to rework an old, crumbling shell of a building into a new, state of the art bar and kitchen. The result is a wonderfully warm and layered interior that feels like it's been part of the neighborhood forever. It's not every day we get to work with such good friends and operators at the very top of their game but with Murray's, the results of that collaboration are abundantly apparent the moment you walk in the door.
